What is Vunolin?

**Vunolin** is an AI-powered learning platform that works like a personal tutor. Instead of pushing you through a fixed catalogue, it starts from **the topic YOU bring**; you type what you want to learn and Vunolin builds a curriculum around it from scratch.

**The system works in three steps:**

1. **Write your topic**: one sentence ("beginner Spanish", "chain rule for derivatives") or a PDF you upload.
2. :brain: **Take the level test**: about ten questions tell us where to begin.
3. **Start your lessons**: the curriculum flexes to your pace, fast on what you know, careful on what you don't.

Lessons aren't locked into a single format. Depending on the topic and how you learn best, Vunolin picks between standard explanations, visuals, story-style narratives, exam-prep mode, hands-on practice, or a spoken back-and-forth with the tutor. Question 2

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Getting started takes about two minutes. Here are the steps:

1. Open the **home page** and type what you want to learn into the hero input. One sentence ("beginner Spanish", "chain rule for derivatives") is enough; you can also attach a **PDF or notes**.
2. Tap **Continue**. Vunolin takes you into the free-account flow.
3. :mail: **Sign up** with email + password or [sign in with Google](/login). After email verification you're brought right back to course setup.
4. **Account setup**: a five-step flow asking for language, theme, birth year, and how you heard about us. One-time questions that shape your experience.
5. :brain: **Take the level test**: about ten questions, not graded. It tells us where to begin.

As soon as the test ends, **your first lesson is ready**. Every course you create lives on the [dashboard](/v/dashboard) so you can pick up wherever you left off. :flame: The daily streak counter goes up by one each day you study.

Question 3

Can I use it for free?

**Yes**, Vunolin's core is fully free and stays free. :heart:

**What's on the free plan:**

- **3 courses every 30 days**.
- :heart: **Five lives** at the start of lessons; they refill every five hours.
- :mic: **Basic voice tutor** in eight languages.
- Every **lesson type** and **question type** is open; only the volume is metered.

What subjects can I learn?

Vunolin's biggest strength is **not having a fixed catalogue**. The curriculum is built on whatever YOU bring.

- :languages: **Foreign languages**: English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese and more.
- :graduation: **Academic**: maths, physics, chemistry, biology, history, literature, philosophy.
- :target: **Exam prep**: IELTS, GMAT, SAT, LSAT, GRE.
- :lightbulb: **Professional**: digital marketing, financial literacy, music theory.

It works just as well on niche topics: a specific programming framework, a particular historical era, a guitar technique, or even **a PDF you upload**. :wand: Vunolin writes the curriculum for you from scratch.

Question 5

What are lives and how do they work?

**Lives** is the simple system on the free plan that balances wrong answers. :heart:

**How it works:**

- You start with **five lives** on the free plan.
- You lose **one life** each time you get a quiz answer wrong.
- When all five are gone, you can't start a new lesson until they refill.
- :refresh: Lives refill automatically at **one every five hours**; a full set takes just over a day.
- You can see the current count and the next refill time on your [dashboard](/v/dashboard).

**No lives on paid plans.** :zap: Super, Pro and Teacher give you unlimited attempts; you never lose a life and never wait.

Question 6

What is the account setup?

Accepted Answer

The **account setup** is a **5-step welcome flow** you go through once after signing up. :wand: It personalises Vunolin for you.

**The five steps:**

1. :wand: **Welcome**: the Vunolin assistant introduces itself and tells you what to expect.
2. :languages: **Language**: pick the interface language (one of 8). You can change it any time from settings.
3. :sun: **Theme**: light or dark mode. Theme choice is saved per device.
4. :calendar: **Birth date**: so we can serve age-appropriate content.
5. **How did you hear about us**: a brief tap on the channel that brought you to Vunolin (social, friend, search). Anonymous, just for our stats.

When all steps are complete, the setup automatically forwards you to the **course setup**. If you'd already typed a topic on the home page before signing up, that topic is remembered and you go straight to course creation.

:settings: **To change anything later**, everything is accessible from the [Settings](/settings) page. The account setup runs once; we don't show it again.

Question 7

What lesson types are there?

Vunolin **automatically picks the lesson type** based on the topic and how you learn best. You don't have to choose, but it helps to know what's available.

**Five lesson types:**

- :book: **Standard**: balanced chat with knowledge cards and small quizzes. The default; works for most subjects.
- :wand: **Story**: tells the material as a narrative. Good for history and language learning.
- :target: **Exam**: tight assessment mode for a final review before a real test.
- :zap: **Practice**: hands-on, with a code playground for programming topics.
- :mic: **Discussion**: turns the lesson into a voice conversation with the tutor.

What question types are there?

Vunolin has **eight question types** and the tutor mixes them so a lesson never feels repetitive. :brain:

**All question types:**

1. **Multiple choice**: pick one correct answer from a list.
2. **Multi-select**: pick two or more correct answers.
3. **True or false**: just that.
4. **Fill in the blank**: type the missing word in a sentence.
5. **Matching**: draw lines between two columns.
6. **Ordering**: drag a shuffled list into the right order.
7. **Flashcards**: flip front-to-back, mark whether you knew it.
8. **Categorisation**: drop items into the correct bucket.

Question 9

How does the level test work?

Accepted Answer

Each new course starts with a **short diagnostic of about ten questions**. :brain: The aim is not to grade you, it's to **find out where to start**.

**Three tiers:**

- :flame: **Beginner**: start from the basics, explain new terms as we go.
- :star: **Intermediate**: move faster, skip a few foundations, spend more time on concepts that build on them.
- :trophy: **Advanced**: go straight to harder material, treat the basics as known.

**The whole rest of the course is calibrated from this result**, including lesson pacing and how detailed each explanation is.

If the result feels off, you can :refresh: **retake the level test** from the course page; we recalibrate the next lesson with the new score.

How does the progress system work?

Your progress lives on the [dashboard](/v/dashboard). :stats: None of it is graded; it's a quiet picture of where you stand, for you.

**Metrics you'll see:**

- :target: **Completed topics**: progress bar for the active course over the total.
- :flame: **Daily streak**: consecutive days of learning; each lesson pushes it one day forward.
- :stats: **Accuracy and time charts**: over the last 7, 14, or 30 days.
- :award: **Strong topics**: where you're doing best.
- :refresh: **Weak topics**: what to revisit.

**Plan differences:**

- **Free** shows the basic counter.
- :badge: **Pro** and **Teacher** unlock the analytics page with time-on-quiz histograms, topic mastery scores and deeper metrics.

How does voice reading work?

Voice in Vunolin works **two ways**: you talk, it talks back. :mic:

**You → Vunolin (voice questions):**

- Tap the microphone in any lesson and ask a question out loud.
- :brain: We transcribe what you said; the tutor replies.
- Works in English, Turkish and the other eight UI languages.

**Plan differences:**

- **Super** has the basic voice tutor in eight UI languages.
- :volume: **Pro** and **Teacher** unlock high-quality voice reading in twelve languages: English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Russian.

:settings: Change the voice language any time from lesson settings; the choice sticks to your account.

Question 12

How does the Notes feature work?

**Notes** is your own scratchpad inside Vunolin. :book: During or after a lesson, you write down anything you want to remember.

**How to use it:**

1. Create a **note group**: give each a colour and an emoji.
2. **Add notes**: as many as you want under each group.
3. **Pin** important notes to keep them at the top.

**Best shortcut:** :wand: From a group page you can ask Vunolin to **build a full course out of those notes**; course setup starts with that material already loaded.

Use Notes for **anything you want to keep close to your learning**: class lecture summaries, vocabulary lists, whatever you'd normally jot down.

Question 13

What is spaced repetition and how does Vunolin use it?

Accepted Answer

**Spaced repetition** is the idea that you remember something better if you review it **just before you would have forgotten it**. :brain:

**How it replaces classical review:**

- Instead of reading the same chapter ten times in a row, you see it again the next day, then three days later, then a week later.
- :calendar: The gaps grow as the memory holds; they shrink again when you start forgetting.

**How Vunolin applies it:**

- :brain: Tracks how confidently you handled each question in your quizzes.
- Uses that signal to **slot weaker concepts back into upcoming lessons earlier than stronger ones**.
- You spend more time on what you almost forgot, less on what you already know.

**Plan differences:**

- :badge: **Pro** and **Teacher** run automatic spaced repetition.
- **Super** gets the basic version; **Free** gets sequential review without the adaptive timing.

What are bonus resources?

**Bonus resources** are extra learning materials Vunolin **pulls live from the web** at the end of each lesson. :lightbulb: For learners who want to go deeper on a topic.

**What they include:**

- :book: **Articles** and blog posts.
- :image: **Visual resources** (infographics, diagrams).
- :volume: **Video** and podcast links.
- :graduation: Academic references (university lecture notes, open-source books).

**How it works:**

- When each lesson ends, Vunolin selects **3-5 resources most relevant to your topic** and shows them.
- :refresh: Resources are fetched in real time, so they're **up to date** every time a lesson ends.
- Tap a link if you're interested; skip if you're not.

**Important notes:**

- :shield: Resources are **third-party sites**; Vunolin isn't responsible for their content.
- :badge: Resource quality varies by topic; sometimes you'll see a few, sometimes more.
- Bonus resources are **available on all plans** (Free included).

Question 15

Can I change my course language?

Accepted Answer

**No**, once a course is created its **language can't be changed**. :lock: This is a deliberate design decision.

**Why:**

The curriculum, level test, lessons, visuals and all content are generated in **the language you chose when opening the course**. Changing the language later would require the whole curriculum to be rewritten.

**In practice:**

- :languages: If you opened your course in English, all lessons will be in English.
- :languages: You can **create a new course** for the same subject in a different language.
- Example: you can have one English and one Turkish course for "Python basics", as two separate courses.

**Interface language ≠ course language:**

- :settings: From [Settings](/settings) you can change the **interface language** any time (menus, buttons, etc.).
- The course content stays in its original language.

**Will lessons change if I switch the dashboard language?**

No, the dashboard (sidebar, menus) changes with the interface language; lessons stay locked to the course's own language. For details on the eight interface languages, see [What is Vunolin?](/getting-started/what-is-vunolin).

What subscription plans are available?

Accepted Answer

Vunolin has **four plans**: Free, Super, Pro and Teacher. They all use the same core (AI-powered personalised courses) but the limits and added features differ.

**Free**: free and stays free:

- 3 courses every 30 days.
- 30 AI requests per day.
- :heart: 5 lives.
- :mic: Basic voice tutor in eight languages.

**Super (₺199/mo)**: lifts the limits:

- :zap: Unlimited courses.
- Unlimited AI requests.
- Unlimited lives.
- Upgraded voice tutor in the same eight UI languages.

**Pro (₺299/mo)**: adds on top of Super:

- :volume: 12-language high-quality voice reading.
- :brain: Adaptive spaced-repetition scheduling.
- :stats: Detailed statistics.

**Teacher (₺2299/mo)**: for classrooms:

- :users: Unlimited student accounts.
- :graduation: Classroom management.
- :stats: Per-student progress tracking.
- :layers: Bulk course creation.

Question 17

Can I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

**Yes**, you can cancel any time and you don't lose access immediately. :badge:

**How cancellation works:**

- Cancellation only stops the **next renewal**.
- The plan keeps working normally until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- After that date the account drops back to the [Free plan](/getting-started/is-vunolin-free).
- Nothing is deleted; the paid features are just off until you subscribe again.

**Re-subscribing** brings everything back instantly. Even years later, the same account opens the same way.

**Where you cancel** depends on where you bought:

- :card: **Web purchase** → [Subscription](/v/dashboard) page in the dashboard.
- :mail: **App Store** → Apple ID Settings > Subscriptions.
- :mail: **Google Play** → Play Store > Subscriptions.

Question 18

Can I change my plan?

Accepted Answer

**Yes**, you can switch plans whenever you want, and we keep the maths fair. :card:

**Upgrades:**

- Take effect immediately.
- The price is **prorated**: we charge the difference between the new and old plans for the days remaining in your billing cycle.
- Not a full month on top. Upgrading mid-month doesn't waste what you already paid.

**Downgrades:**

- The current plan runs to the **end of the period you already paid for**.
- The lower plan kicks in at the next renewal.
- :calendar: Unused days aren't refunded; the current plan stays in effect until expiry.

The [Pricing](/pricing) page shows the impact before you confirm, so there's no surprise.

Plan changes work the same way on **web**, **App Store** and **Google Play**; the store you bought from handles the billing change on its side.

Question 19

What's the advantage of yearly plans?

Accepted Answer

**Yearly billing** is the cheapest way to use Vunolin's paid features: **two months free**, in effect. :calendar:

**The maths is simple:**

- Super at ₺199/month adds up to **₺2,388** across twelve full monthly invoices.
- On the yearly plan, the same twelve months land closer to **₺1,990**.
- Pro and Teacher follow the same ratio.

**Yearly is a single up-front payment** that keeps the subscription active for a year. :badge:

**Cancellation:** You can cancel anytime; the subscription keeps running to the end of the year. But the only path to an early refund is the standard **14-day window** (UK / EU). For details, see [How refunds work](/payment/how-refunds-work).

**It makes sense if:** :flame: You've been using Vunolin steadily, or you have a long-arc goal like a year of language practice or a year of exam prep.

On the [Pricing](/pricing) page you can toggle Monthly / Yearly to see the actual amounts side by side before committing.

Question 20

Is payment secure?

Accepted Answer

**Yes**, payment security on Vunolin is protected in multiple layers through our partner Stripe. :shield:

**Who Stripe is:**

- One of the largest regulated payment processors in the world.
- :lock: Certified at **PCI DSS Level 1**, the strictest tier of card-industry standards.
- Works directly with Visa, Mastercard and all major banks.

**Where your card details go:**

- Card details are sent **straight to Stripe**; they never touch our servers.
- :lock: If you save a card for next time, Stripe stores a **token**, not the full number.
- You can remove a saved card any time from your [account page](/v/dashboard) under **Subscription > Payment methods**.

**Extra security:**

- :badge: **3D Secure 2**: for higher-risk payments your bank may add a quick verification step like a code, a fingerprint, or an in-app confirmation.

Question 21

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Vunolin purchases are **not refundable by default**, like most digital subscriptions. :badge: But there are two clean exceptions and a safety net for billing errors.

**Two statutory exceptions:**

- :globe: **UK / EU residents** get a **14-day statutory cooling-off period** on their first web purchase, as long as the content hasn't been used. You keep this right unless you explicitly waive it at checkout to start learning straight away.
- :card: **Duplicate charges, wrong amounts or unauthorised charges** are always refunded.

**App Store and Google Play** purchases follow a different flow:

- :mail: **Apple** → request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- :mail: **Google Play** → play.google.com under Order History.

Question 22

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We use different methods for web and mobile purchases. :card:

**Web purchases accept:**

- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- :star: Locally-popular schemes where available

Your card is processed through [Stripe](/payment-security) in the same secure flow your bank already approves you with.

**Mobile app purchases:**

- :mail: **App Store**: adds Apple Pay alongside your card on file.
- :mail: **Google Play**: Google Pay plus regional options, including carrier billing in some markets.

**Saving a card:**

- You can save your card so the next renewal doesn't ask you to retype it.
- :lock: Stripe stores only a token; your full number never reaches our servers.
- Remove a saved card any time from the [dashboard](/v/dashboard) under **Subscription > Payment methods**.

**Card declined?** Usually it's your bank's risk check. Try again or pick a different card. If the problem keeps happening, reach us at [contact@vunolin.com](/contact) and we'll help.

Question 23

I forgot my password.

Accepted Answer

Don't worry, resetting your password takes two minutes. :lock:

**Steps:**

1. Open the [sign-in page](/login).
2. Tap the **Forgot password** link under the password field.
3. Enter the **email you signed up with**. :mail: Within seconds we send a **six-digit code**.
4. **Enter the code**: valid for 15 minutes. If you don't see the email, check the spam folder.
5. **Choose a new password**: at least 8 characters and different from your old one.

Once you confirm, you're automatically signed in. :badge:

**If you forget passwords often:**

- :shield: Consider a password manager such as 1Password, Bitwarden, or the built-in keychains in Apple / Google products.
- :lock: Turn on [Two-factor authentication](/account/two-factor-authentication) to strengthen your account.

Question 24

How do I change my profile information?

Accepted Answer

To edit your profile, **tap the avatar in the top-right corner** and choose **Profile**. :settings:

**What you can edit:**

- :badge: **First and last name**: tap Edit, type new values.
- :image: **Profile photo**: tap the avatar circle; PNG, JPG or WebP up to **5 MB**. Auto-cropped to a square.
- :star: **Username**: tap Edit to change.

**Other settings:**

- :languages: Language, theme, birth date and other account-setup preferences live in [Settings](/settings).
- :shield: **Security settings** like email and password are under **Profile > Security**.

When you change your first or last name, the new name shows on future lessons and certificates immediately. Past records aren't rewritten.

Question 25

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

If you're sure you want to delete your account, here's how. :shield:

**Steps:**

1. Open your [Profile](/v/dashboard/profile) page.
2. **Scroll to the very bottom**.
3. Tap the red **Delete my account permanently** link.
4. In the confirmation box, type **"DELETE" in capital letters** and tap the red **Delete account** button.

If you sign in again within 14 days, your account is reactivated.

**Important, deletion is permanent:**

- :lock: All your courses, progress, notes and stats are **removed permanently**.
- We can't bring them back; you can register again with the same email, but past content won't return.
- :card: **Cancel any active subscription BEFORE deleting** (see [How do I cancel?](/subscription/how-to-cancel)); otherwise your store keeps billing the renewal.

**Want a copy of your data?**

- :mail: Before deleting, email [contact@vunolin.com](/contact); we'll send you a copy of your courses and notes.

**Just want a break?** Downgrading from a paid plan to the [Free plan](/getting-started/is-vunolin-free) keeps your account open; you can come back whenever you like. Still not sure? Email [contact@vunolin.com](/contact) first; we'd rather solve whatever the problem is than lose you.

Question 26

How do I turn on two-factor authentication?

Accepted Answer

**Two-factor authentication** (2FA) adds a second check on top of your password. :shield: Even if someone learns your password, they can't get into your account without access to your inbox.

**How 2FA works on Vunolin:**

- :mail: When enabled, we send a **six-digit code to your email** on every sign-in.
- No authenticator app or QR code is needed; Vunolin's 2FA is **email-based**.
- That means your email address must be **verified** before you can turn 2FA on.

**Steps to turn it on:**

1. Open your [Profile](/v/dashboard/profile) page.
2. Go into **Security** (or open the [Security page](/v/dashboard/security) directly).
3. On the **Two-factor authentication** card, tap **Enable**.
4. :badge: You'll see a confirmation toast; the badge flips to **Active**.

**On your next sign-in:**

- :mail: After entering your password, we email you a **six-digit code**.
- Type the code into the sign-in screen.
- Once verified, you're in.

**Disabling it:**

Open the same **Security** page and tap the button next to the card; it's a one-tap toggle.

**Protect your email too.** 2FA only works as well as the inbox it's tied to. Use a strong password (and ideally your email provider's own 2FA) on the email account itself. For general account safety, see [How do I edit my profile?](/account/edit-profile).

Question 27

How do I change the email address on my account?

Accepted Answer

Changing your email takes three steps. :mail:

**Steps:**

1. Open your [Profile](/v/dashboard), choose **Security** and tap **Change email**.
2. Type the **new address** and confirm with your **current password**.
3. :mail: We send a **verification link** to the new address right away. **Click within 24 hours** for the change to take effect.

**From then on**, sign-in uses the new address; the old one no longer works.

**Safety net:**

- :shield: We also send a confirmation to the **old address**, so you'd notice if someone else tried to make the change.

**Email not arriving?**

- :mail: Check your spam folder.
- If it still hasn't arrived, email [contact@vunolin.com](/contact).

To change your password too, use the [Forgot password](/account/forgot-password) flow; it works the same way.
