How does the level test work?
Every time you start a new course, we run a short diagnostic test of about ten questions to place you at the right starting point. The goal isn't to grade you, it's to figure out where to start.
There are three level tiers:
- Beginner: means we need to start from the basics and explain new terms as we go.
- Intermediate: means we can move faster, skip a few basics, and spend more time on concepts that build on them.
- Advanced: means we go straight into harder material and treat the basics as already known.
The rest of the course is calibrated from this result, including the lesson pace and how detailed each explanation is.
If the result doesn't feel right, you can retake the level test from the course page; we recalibrate the next lesson based on the new score.
If you haven't created a course yet, you can get started with the How do I get started? article.
