What are question cards?
In Vunolin lessons, the interactive cards you answer and get scored on, ranging from multiple choice to fill-in-the-blank, are called question cards. There are sixteen types in total; the system picks the ones best suited to the topic and your level, so lessons never feel repetitive. For the cards that teach the topic, see the Learning types page.
- Single choice: you pick the one correct answer among several options.
- Fill in the blank: you complete the blank in a sentence with one of the given words.
- True/False: you decide whether a statement is true or false.
- Ordering: you arrange items in the correct order.
- Word bank: you tap scrambled word blocks to build the correct sentence.
- Write the answer: you type the answer yourself with no options given. Minor spelling differences are tolerated.
- Reading: you read a short passage, then answer a comprehension question.
- Listen and choose: you listen to audio, then mark the correct option.
- Matching: you match a term with its definition (or a word with its translation).
- Speaking: you say the target text out loud. Speech recognition checks your accuracy.
- Dictation: you listen to audio and write down exactly what you heard.
- Tap the word: you tap the correct word within a sentence; for example, you might be asked to find the verb.
- Grouping: you sort items into the correct categories.
- Choose from image: you read the question and pick the correct image among the options.
- Label the image: you look at an image and pick the correct label.
- Image true/false: you look at an image and a statement and decide whether it's true or false.
The last three image-based questions appear in image-heavy lessons. We explain how your answers are scored in the How does the progress system work? article.
